Steve Castellarin has a long history with the M&O Insulation Company. Starting out as a warehouse helper at the age of 15. While in college, he worked for Bank of America. After graduating, he worked at Merrill Lynch as a Taft Hartley Funds manager. Steve returned to M&O Insulation in 2003 as an Estimator. Steve rose through the ranks in 2004 and became a Project Manager for Asbestos, Lead, and Mold Abatement in conjunction with Insulation. He started a Commercial Division at M&O Insulation in 2009, later becoming VP at M&O Insulation and Environmental in 2010. In 2015, he left M&O Insulation to work for Performance Contracting in Philadelphia and ran that market for insulation for two years. Later, Steve accepted the position as President of Advanced Specialty in 2017. During which, he ran all insulation, Industrial coatings, firestopping, and abatement from Virginia to New York for Advanced Specialty and oversaw the management of 5 offices. In 2020, he was hired back with M & O Insulation as Chief Operating Officer to run all activities and services that the company offers.
Steve is devoted to the families that have been supported by the Insulators and laborers for the three generations of M&O Insulation Company. This business has changed the lives of many people and he takes great pride in keeping their partnership as a 100% union company going for many years to come. Steve’s grandfather, Rich O’Heir, started the business in 1972, and his goal is to continue to make this a profitable third-generation company. Steve enjoys long-standing friendships with the customers, the field, as well as other trades.
Steve was born and raised in Oak Forest, IL., having lived in Oakland, CA., and Philadelphia, PA. as well. In his free time, he enjoys fishing and traveling with his wife of 17 years, Rebecca, and his two children, Cali and Peter. Steve volunteers as a soccer referee supporting his children which takes him across the Midwest.
